Bedding
Below are some common questions about our bedding.
What is the difference between goose down and duck down?
Goose down generally has larger, loftier clusters, making it lighter and softer. Duck down offers slightly more compact comfort and is typically a more affordable option. Both provide excellent breathability and warmth.
What's the difference between feather and down?
Down clusters are softer and lighter, ideal for breathable comfort and insulation. Feathers are firmer, heavier, and offer more structured support. Our Pro products blend both for a balance of soft comfort and firm structure.
Are your natural-fill products responsibly sourced?
Yes, as a member of the European Down and Feather Association (EDFA), our manufacturer follows a strict code of conduct and traceability standards to ensure all down and feathers are responsibly sourced.
Which fill should I choose?
Down: Luxurious, lightweight, and breathable. Ideal for all-year comfort.
Feather: Provides firmer support and is suitable for those who prefer a slightly weightier feel.
Goose Down: Offers superior loft, warmth, and luxury.
Duck Down: A more affordable option that balances comfort and support.
Aerelle® Cool Night: Ideal for those who tend to overheat, providing excellent temperature regulation and cooling comfort.
Choose the fill that best suits your personal preferences and needs for the most comfortable and restorative sleep.
What is fill power?
Fill power measures the loft and insulation of down. Higher fill power means better warmth-to-weight ratio:
- 400–600: Lightweight warmth.
- 650–750: Balanced loft for most seasons.
- 800+: Maximum insulation and breathability.
What is a baffle box casing?
Baffle boxes are pockets inside the fabric that keep the fill evenly distributed across the duvet, supporting consistent loft and warmth across the entire product. No more cold spots!
How deep are your mattress toppers?
Our toppers are 7cm deep for balanced cushioning and pressure relief. The Elite models feature a dual-layer design for enhanced comfort and support.
What tog rating should I choose for my duvet?
- 4.5 Tog: Light coverage for warm conditions.
- 10.5 Tog: Medium warmth for most seasons.
- 13.5 Tog: Maximum warmth for winter or cold rooms.
Choose based on your personal warmth preference, room temperature, and how you layer bedding.
What type of cotton fabric is used for the casing?
All products use high thread count 100% cotton for breathability and durability.
What is the best way to choose the right pillow firmness?
- Side sleepers: Firmer pillows offer more lift to support the neck.
- Back sleepers: Medium firmness helps to align the head and spine.
- Stomach sleepers: Softer pillows to reduce neck strain.
Consider your sleep posture and personal comfort preferences.
Are the duvets, pillows and toppers OEKO-TEX® certified?
Yes, all ProSleepClub bedding products are made from OEKO-TEX® certified casing and fill materials—free from harmful substance and chemicals.
Are your products suitable for allergy-sensitive sleepers?
Yes, our down and feather fills are Downafresh® certified, meaning they are rigorously cleaned to high hygiene standards. Our products are also NOMITE® certified, with tightly woven casings that act as an effective barrier to dust mites.
Do you stock continental sizes?
Not currently, though we plan to expand our size range soon.
Are your products handmade?
Yes, our bedding is handcrafted in the UK by skilled makers who carefully fill, sew, and finish each item to a high standard. Every piece is individually checked before packaging to ensure consistent quality and comfort. While modern equipment supports precision and efficiency, hands-on craftsmanship remains at the heart of our production.
What should I do with my bedding when it arrives?
Air your duvet, pillow, or topper for 24–48 hours to allow the filling to fully expand and regain its loft before use. This helps maximise comfort from the start.
What is the best way to wash my bedding?
Always refer to the care label on your product for specific instructions. For general guidance:
- Duvets & Pillows: Professional cleaning is preferred, as commercial machines offer the space needed (around 50% empty capacity) for even re-lofting. If washing at home, use a gentle cycle at 40°C and dry thoroughly on low heat.
- Mattress Toppers: Spot clean only. These are not suitable for machine washing or dry cleaning.
Regular fluffing, rotating, and airing will help preserve freshness, loft, and performance.
Supplements
Below are some common questions about our supplements.
What does the Informed Sport certification mean?
Informed Sport is a globally recognised quality assurance programme for sports supplements. Products certified by Informed Sport are independently tested for substances banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and produced in facilities with strict quality controls to minimise contamination risk. Choosing an Informed Sport product gives athletes greater confidence in the safety and integrity of their supplements.
Are sleep supplements safe for everyone?
Not necessarily. While we stock only Informed Sport certified supplements trusted by elite athletes, individual suitability can vary.
Always speak to a healthcare professional if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication, or have underlying health concerns.
Also consider:
- Supplement purpose: Food supplements are not a substitute for a varied diet and healthy lifestyle.
- Product usage: Always read the label carefully and follow the recommended dosage.
- Adverse effects: Stop taking the product and seek medical advice if you experience any unexpected symptoms.
Can I take more than one supplement at once?
It depends on the products and your individual health needs. While some supplements are designed to be used together, others may contain the same ingredients or ingredients that counteract each other. Always check the label for dosage guidance and speak with a healthcare professional if you're unsure.
Do I need a prescription to use your supplements?
No, all supplements we stock are available without a prescription. However, they are formulated for use alongside a balanced diet and healthy sleep habits—not as a replacement for medical treatment or advice.
Will supplements make me fall asleep faster?
Everyone responds differently. While ingredients like magnesium, tart cherry, and ashwagandha have been associated with relaxation and improved sleep quality, individual experiences vary. Supplements are best used as part of a consistent sleep routine.
How long should I take a supplement before seeing results?
This varies by ingredient and individual. Some people notice effects within a few days, while for others it may take longer. It’s best to take supplements consistently as directed and evaluate over time. If unsure, consult a healthcare professional.
